Back when he was on a pan flat drag strip with 3000 vehicles per hour going past at only about 10mph above his speed.
He was still pedalling at about 90rpm; even with a 1:1 gear ratio, you're doing about 9mph at that cadence, which is more than most people here can hold up a climb worthy of the name.
