Yep. Do drop Charlie a message first and see what's the lead time to get it.
Or pop into Keep Pedalling. The distributor seems to have 135mm fixed/disc in stock for £99 at the moment.

The fixed ones are rarer than the SS ones...

Yeah I'm friendly with those guys anyway so I would probably ask them to order them in and build the wheels for me.

I'm advising a back disc brake too. There's quite a lot of stopping power in a front disc only, be prepared to endo.
Adding a back brake won't (indeed, cannot) add any braking power to something which can already endo.
If i did get OTP 29er wheels, how easy is it to swap the QR axle for a bolt on?
Shimano rear axles on their lower end rears are 10×1 threaded, so you can easily swap to a generic solid axle and track nuts. Fronts are 9×1 for conventional dropouts, not such an easy OTP solution but that FireEye axle could have the threads extended to take the cones and locknuts. Making bolt-on axles for QR15 front hubs is pretty simple too, wouldn't even need the spacers I used on my tandem.

my pompino back from its maiden tour. the bike performed admirably - super steady and smooth over an often gravel track. the hub gear is great in that unlike derailleurs it shifts well under load on the hills

Just ordered a 2012 blue frame/fork along with some other bits to build up a commuter. It will most likely look rancid at first but it'll do until i win the lottery.
Not even a month since sold my last pomp... stupidest thing I ever did

Had to make something for those wet and cold seasons of scandinavia:
Need to change grips and cut steerer (also gonna get compact drop bars next summer so it'll make perfect ss-tourer).
edit: already changed saddle angle abit -

After riding mine Fixed on 700x32c Paselas for a couple of months, I've installed a rear v-brake, gone SS and geared down from 44x17T to 42x17T.
Just didn't feel nice as a Fixed. I know it's probably down to tyre choice, but I went for something chunky and grippy as partly an antidote to my road bike and partly because LA streets are like the surface of the Moon.
It also became a bit boring having to wear SPDs to ride it anywhere. It's supposed to be my beer/coffee bike.70mm stem was too short, pitched me too far over the rear wheel and fucked up the steering. 90mm now, seat slid forward 15mm to compensate.
Also hate hate hate the feel of cloth bar tape. Rewrapped with Fizik Gel underneath, still feels like shit. Replacement is on the 'to do' list.

Ok chaps, pompetamine or kaffenback? Looking for a single speed disc braked winter hack- unless someone knows of a frame and forks for sale XL?
-
• #2613
Pompetamine. The new Kaff has vertical dropouts and costs a fair whack more.
-
• #2614
Oh, the old Kaffenback also looks like it comes with vertical dropouts too.
-
• #2615
Sliding dropouts weren't they?
-
• #2616
Not sliding, but swappable between vertical with gear hanger and horizontal without
-
• #2617
The first gen had vertical dropouts. Second got the swappable.

Just bought the below.

Put some slick 25's on it in the hope of making it feel less sluggish. Didn't really work. I think it may not be for me :(
