If you have a recurring donation, I presume that has just moved to the new accounts? Or maybe it was already going there anyway...But wanted to make sure.
Should carry on regardless, I've changed my details with PayPal and PayPal manages the recurring donations.
It only isn't the case for one person who has been notified. Because that person didn't want to do PayPal and had a bank standing order and manual reconciliation instead.
Should be seamless for everyone.
ah hence the email from Paypal about my donation expiring
Nope, that's just it recurring.
PayPal will say it's cancelled if the card expires, payment fails.
PayPal will say it's expiring, every month on a monthly subscription, and then do a new transaction shortly afterwards.
Basically PayPal's idea of recurring payments seem to be a series of individual payments that last X duration, expire, and then need the next instance in the series to happen. Rather than actually be a payment that recurs.
Their confusing emails come out of them not being able to model it correctly back in the day.
Post Velocio a tenner? Address is in the whois.
That works. Surprisingly.
It's also possible to gift gold stars using this mechanism. Just include a note saying who should be credited for it. I won't know who it's from, so effectively this gifts the gold star and any privileges/acknowledgement to that person mentioned.
