Following the tandem riders in a pace line on a relatively busy lane,
out jumps a deer about a metre ahead of the tandem narrowly missing the bikes but plowing head first into a car moving the opposite direction
huge impact, glass flying everywhere, deer flies behind our paceline almost hitting "Gadget" of AC Hackney.
We carry on, unscathed, counting ourselves very lucky...
Reach Kirton on the return leg, go get my brevet card stamped and notice a Dave Yates frame leant on the floor.
Ask a random volunteer why the frame is lying around
Volunteer: "Oh that's just a frame I brought along for jerry, he had his nicked a while back and this one has been been lying around for a while...
...I'm Dave Yates by the way..."
