Been pretty busy recently so the progress has slowed down considerably but it should start motoring along now.
So currently the garden is in a complete mess:
IMG_1777 by joe todd1, on FlickrI've pruned/got rid of some trees:

IMG_1775 by joe todd1, on FlickrIn the next few days I'll go down to Travis Perkins and get the sand and concrete to make the base.
Also - I've been given permission to do the work on the shed by the council!

Ah, the relative sanity of a good shed thread :-)

Hope you had a bit of shade to work in today!
I think you've earned yourself a beer or two now :-)

Haha yeah I enjoyed a couple of beers watching the last couple of hours of the Tour today.

Wot no DPM?

Nah not on this concrete - the shed website seems to think it'll be alright. But I'll definitely be damp proofing the brick shed.

thoroughly enjoyable thread.
i am the proud owner of two sheds which on reflection of the shed love on here should really be pimped a bit.

Any more progress?
-
• #67
Yes, the garden shed will be coming in a week and I've got the wood for the raised beds which I'll make when the rain stops (hopefully tomorrow).

is the shed dead?

Wooden shed base would have been easier to get level if you'd built a wooden frame around the footprint and levelled off the sand so it's flush with the top. It keeps the sand in one place and you can use a long piece of wood/metal to 'screed' it level. You then lay the slabs flush with the frame edge.
It helps if you've built the frame to the same dimensions as the slabs though ...
Not much use to you now of course, but for anyone else putting in a shed, this is a good way to do it.

A year on...
Not nearly as much progress as I had hoped however the garden is shaping up nicely, just a bit more weeding and planting now.
^The vegetable patch - so far growing potatoes, spring onions, rocket, tomatos and brussels sproutsMeanwhile in the bike shed...
-Roof still needs mending
-Too much bike stuff, see classifieds in about a month.
-Still need to get rid of some of the gardening stuff. -

Any progress is a good thing :-)
The garden's looking much better already.

Unfortunately I will be selling the Vivalo in the picture.
And Hefty that was me - you were just turning right?
Luckily I can still cycle - just not very fast
Haha there's still hundreds of boxes still to be unpacked inside
Meanwhile, cleared some of the garden from this...

Hopefully, this weekend I can begin on the main bike shed if the garden shed goes up.
