Shirley the black bag is only needed if it's wet and if it's wet, you'd have the jacket on?

True, but once the jacket came out of that bag, it stayed on. Bag was thrown away. Just didn't want jacket getting shitty if I rode through any big puddles or mud.
It never actually rained, but the temp at the summit of the climb was so low that it took me about a day to thaw out.
