I don't think that most of the public believe that sprinters are all doping. People genuinely seem to believe e.g. that Bolt is clean "but he's so tall, he runs differently, etc etc" - he's only 2 inches taller than Asafa Powell or Carl Lewis. He must be doping, he apparently employs the star witness in the Balco case (Angel Heredia/Hernandez) who witnessed against others purely to save his own skin.
