Looks good man, you might wanna take a few links out of your chain/adjust the b-tension on your rear mech though!

I know, it looks like it's super slack but when it's on the big ring it's as tight as I'd want it to get. Is there anything I can do about that?

Well ideally your mech would have enough cage length to take up the slack when you're in the little ring, but as you shouldn't be riding smallest-smallest like in that pic anyway, it'd just leave it if the tension's good in the big ring (and if that's what you'll ride in most). If you're really worried about it though, you might be able to take a few links out and still have the chain acceptably tight - you just have to make sure your chain still runs through the mech in an s-bend in big-big.

So after (unsurprisingly) jumping from idea to idea and after a bit of a spontaneous chat at work I have ended up with this lovely CNC Spécial, which some of you may have already seen.

I got it for the frame really, rightly sized 531 to work from. Plan is to get used to riding a road bike, save some money and then upgrade pretty much everything (respray/groupset).

First on the list is black tape/cables which will be done tomorrow ;)

Nah still have the falcon for now. No more track frame though
