Oh and while Hippy was in Mersey, I was busy bettering my seasons best 25mTT on the H25/8. Seems a bit trifling now.

Can't even imagine how much training and sacrifice this takes, congrats.

i think you'll find it's actually 10.36 50
kmmile TT's back to backftfy
Clearly these TT's are just too easy these days, they need a new measure, hows about a 1000 mile TT
Several End-to-End record breakers have gone on to take the RRA straight-out 1000 mile record by way of a warm down.

51.8 back to back 10 mile TTs
And all of them in 27'48", a time which plenty of people have yet to beat.

Hippy, do you think you might get approached by some kind of serious team on the back of this?
Yes, definitely.
A very specialist team, dressed in white coats, probably armed with straight jacket and lithium.

Just to confirm, the cap does fit, it was just placed 'on' me for the presentation. There is also a hat option for the three people in the #hatsnotcaps brigade. My haircut is better than WIggos.

Congrats...now feel free to have a day off, some nice coffee maybe some no gel based food.
Done, done and hell yeah.

Back next year? Now you have to defend it surely?
I said this would be the last one beforehand - the training kills any semblance of a life (ie. going out and getting pissed). Then I joked to gf that I should tell Ultan "ESCA24 in 2014, best of three?" and then someone asked me about the 24hr Worlds in the US... #neversaynever

Does'nt sound quite so amazeballs though does it? In fact how are the balls, have they been crushed to dust? I'd be interested to know what saddle Hippy used for this, as one that you can sit on for 24 hours can't be bad.
Clearly these TT's are just too easy these days, they need a new measure, hows about a 1000 mile TT. Hippy only managed 0.518 of them, which on reflection counts as a DNF, must do better
There is a 1000 mile distance record. RRA probably have details. People often tack it onto a LEJOG record attempt.
Logistical nightmare and I dread to think of what more than one day's sleep deprivation would be like whilst trying to ride a bike in a straight line.

Anyone know why the h25/2 isn't being used from next year?

I heard talk of traffic lights on the Bisham roundabout.

Yeah, but I was replying as I was reading.
Brain currently in better state than legs.

The ski slope? Nooooo!
I have unfinished business there.

Fucking incredible.
I cannot understand how you managed at all... -
• #4794
Bit late to say so, but oh my god 518 miles is incredible! Amazing work.

It was 2 or 3 years ago I sold my turbo trainer to hippy. He came in, all out of breath from the 4 steps up to the front door, sweating like a pig, his grotesque belly spilling out over his 'fashion slacks'. Said he wanted to get in to this cycling lark. I was happy to take his money.
After he left I noticed a pie I had left out on the window sill to cool down had disappeared and there were some odd, and as it turned out, impossible to remove, stains where he had sat on the settee. I wasn't expecting to hear of him again, not unless I started tuning in to Crimewatch every month.
So I say well done Hippy. -

You look surprisingly well, all things considered. Did you manage to walk to the podium? I seem to remember that Wilko was a bit shakey when we saw him a couple of years ago.
It's a pity this event clashed with the Tour finish - there was no room anywhere in the media for anything cycling except the TdF. I'm inclined to think that it might be possible now (cycling being the flavour of the moment) to get the papers interested in the 24, but it would have to be on a different weekend when it could have a clear run.

Hope the recovery is going well fella, congratulations and celebrations all round, that could not of been easy, respect for pushing on with the training it was worth it then?

Does Hippy get to ride Nation Champs colours now?!
Special edition LFGSS jersey?

Please Ed, tell me what's so pathetic about this community? (apart from your shit advice that is)
The fact you took me seriously.

No, but expect him to wear the cap to the pub for the next few months.
There is always the 365day record to beat.
