saarf, that red mtb would really benefit from a fork & stay widening so you could put drilled fat bike wheels on. perhaps also have the head angle relaxed and forks lengthened for that perfect strip cruiser. 4/10 as is ;p

personally id cut the bars down a bit to shorten the reach to the levers then you could use a longer stem?
Even if it looks shit how it is, works great. I like the variety of hand positions and the availability of a very close one as the frame is technically too long for me. But for hills I get right over the front.

perhaps I should explain how/why this steed evolved into Bambaataa
it came from the outcome of an imaginary meeting between Afrika Bambaataa and a certain Ernesto Colnago in Cambiago in the early '90s.
The bike is a Master mtb, and the Master was circa 84,(some of the first being the befamed ''Saronni Red"), as was the blossoming of Bambaataa's good work
By the early 90's Bambataa was confirmed King of the Zulu Nation, who's influence had spread worldwide by now ,so Ernesto's marketing team thought that this would be a fruitful demographic to target

Sparkles arrived today..
A little small, it's 60 c-t where I never really like below 60 c-c but I figure it's worth building it up for a while all the same as seems a shame to not give it a ride. Longer cranks and another cm on the stem and it ought to be quite nice.

I'm in Japan for the summer and picked it up on yahoo auctions. Have four more weeks to grab the rest of the parts, some 75s, no Jag as it'll feel really tiny like that, but no doubt otherwise Nitto parts and wheels yet to see, depends on what I see at a reasonable price.

The other thing to do on this trip is fix up this bike i bought over - needs a new chain, tyres, tubes, a good strip down and build back up again really.
I just put on some C-Record shifters to get it all Campagnolo, still not as nice as the old Simplex Retrofrictions it had before. Still, close enough. Trying to get up the hills in the background, all forests, there's a temple up top too. Getting a little further each day - I suck at hills but aim to change that.

Samson looks good.
Very similar to mine, except I have black outlining on the Samson decals, not gold. Same paint though. Mine doesn't have the Reynolds on Columbus decals on it though, however, it had sticky residue on the forks and top tube from where I'm assuming it had Columbus decals.
EDIT: Mine is also a Samson Illusion.

Following the epic 'dinner plate' chainrings spotted on the Tour de France, I got myself a 54T Fiber Lyte Total Aero Chainring:
"THE LIGHTEST (AND POSSIBLY SMOOTHEST RUNNING) CHAINRINGS ON THE PLANET!!" (apparently)

I moved back to france 4 months ago and finally found a new project. I have been looking for that frame for a while now and got it cheap as chips: enter the GT Force 1996!
I'll be loosing the rack and maybe go for modern groupset, straight forks and black components I think...

Lynskey Titanium Custom. Ultegra 6700/Sram Red carnas + BB/Aksiums/FSA K-Wing/PMP seatpost/Aspide Saddle
Before anyone tells me to 'slam dat stem', I like the riding position better this way. Touring style.

Noice!
What about the wear and tear for carbon chainrings? -
• #80198
That merely looks gash.

Aero-gashness.
Not sure about the wear, only did 10 miles with it.
Will update at 500/1000 miles

The seta does at least least look better, Vince - How about a longer stem?
The Lynskey frame and components are cool, amalgamated, not so.
