Pinot on descending:

“When I saw that I was not able to stay on the wheel of a rider like Mark Cavendish on the descent off a mountain pass, I asked myself: ‘What am I doing on the Tour?' I received the clear response that I have nothing to do here."

Ouch.

I don't get this because generally sprinters are considered demon descenders, as they spend so long getting to the top they have to go full Wipeout and hit the afterburners to stay inside the cut. Cav is considered one of the best and also has excellent technical skills. Or was the fact he was descending with Cav in the first place? Shame, his was one of my favoruite rides on, what was it, Stage 9? With Madiot going full retard in the car.
