Thanks!

Ok, I have just realised my entry is very much dependent on whether or not I can beg/borrow/hire a track legal bike, because I certainly don't own one. I kind of assumed HH would provide as they normally do but obviously this isn't a public session so they may operate differently. Will call and check with them this week.

• #182
They did last time.
But probably a good idea to let the guy with the key to the bike lockers known they need to be available. -
• #183
This is gonna be great!

Big up Amey for organising.

If I can free it up in my diary , il be riding in cat z or fatcat, but more importantly , Henry the sausage dawg will be on the spectators list!
-
• #188
no dogs allowed on the herne Hill site I think

If you were told you had to race in the same cat as someone like Symon Lewis would you sign up? Just do a seeding race like for the men.
agreed.
Nath. I know what you mean, but, lets say, there are only six women signed up (only two on the current list have confirmed they would be ready to race), then why would you split the races up?
More women are needed before more races added. The other option is sorting out a handicap system.
and how many men turned up to the last track day?
Yeah, I'm not afraid of losing to someone better than me and this is all just a bit of fun.
If you're billing it as a race meet then the program should be well put together and as lfgss is an equal opportunities internet forum (not a boys club) then there should be parity. If people don't turn up, they don't turn up.

There was a dog spectating at the last track meet I went to as Hats warmed him up as he was shivering the poor little thing.

Why do you think this is this becoming some sort of sexism on the internets thread?
People sign up, people race. It's that simple.
Moar women signing up would open the opportunity to a ladies seeding race and categories option, but there are currently nearly three times as many men signed up, so essentially there would be more levels of differing ability in those two mens cats than there would be in one ladies category. No ladies turned up to race at the last event, which was sad, and this needs to be rectified.
The only people making it sound like a boys club are the ones complaining about it. It's hard to organise an event like this and Amey and Laner are doing their best to sort it out within a limited amount of time.
Tl;dr version:
EVERYONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN RACING PLEASE ADD YOUR NAME TO THE LIST AND THEN SCHEDULES AND RACES CAN BE ORGANISED.

Without trying to start an argument, is grupetto going to have this for their track meet? Looking at the results from last year you didn't have any women's races.

There were womens races last year, not a full program unfortunately. We're pushing for more this year - but seeing as we have a grand total of 1 female member (Tika, who is also sort of VCL) - it's not easy. I'm also not in charge of organising the Grump track schedule, but (like Nath) have put my 2p in.

Probably wasn't noticed. But...
Dogs are not permitted at Herne Hill Velodrome, for obvious reasons.
