Tour de France 2013

Theoretically speaking there's no reason why we couldn't have a GC battle on the flat stages, like in the good old days, only it has become a new tour tradition not to take chances it seems.

Isn't this because teams are so well prepared these day that no one GC team have the firepower to get one over another on flat stages. I don't think it is a credible chance that Valverde could get in a break and less so that he could make it stick.
