I think it depends on the shoe, and without tunnel testing you won't know which is faster. I wear them because they keep my shoes clean and they're bright white which should make me more visible

Yeah, like the Bonts with the fold over top probably don't gain anything but mine are covered in velcro and latches so might. If I could find better roads or even better, an indoor velodrome to do some testing then I could answer the question properly. It was irrelevant for yesterday as I had to undo them to try and get blood into my foot. I forgot to loosen my shoes before putting on the overshoes.

were the overshoes gripping your feet tighter than the buckles and latches?
-
• #105
Probably. But I've ridden a 100 with the same shoes and overshoes without any issue because I ran the shoes a bit looser. I was in a hurry so didn't think to back off the straps before putting on the overshoes this time. It's all irrelevant anyway as I p_nct_red.

Can we come back at the purpose of the tread please ? -

You would have more luck with getting a thread on-topic by actually posting something that was on-topic. Sure as shit when someone complains about off-topic discussion shit will get random...

I find it really hard to believe that hairy legs only are not less aero than shaved legs - especially if (like me) your legs are pretty hairy. It seems like the equivalent of wearing a shaggy jumper instead of a skinsuit - there must be a difference.

I believe skinsuit materials have tested faster than skin and they offer some compression so probably faster. You also don't break any sleeveless rules.

BTA (between the arms) is best for your first bottle, BTA (behind the arse) is good for extras

I'm sorry. I hate to do this guys.
Are we all agreed on conventional wisdom being get a smaller-than-usual frame for a TT bike? I'm looking into setting up a Dolan Pre Cursa/FXE as a fixed TT bike to see how I get on without having spent lots of money. Regularly ride a 54cm road bike with 100mm stem, thinking 52cm PC with 120mm stem and aero bars would be about right.
The bike will also have the joys of doubling up as my fixed get about.

Work out where you need your bars then buy a frame that has the right stack and reach to place them there without fucking up the handling. That might be a frame designed for drops a couple of sizes smaller than you usually use, but not necessarily.
Well if you believe Alex's statement, it's not.
I'm sure I read on his blog though that overshoes were faster. I just can't find the statement.
