...gutted I bailed near Woking. The brain and bike said yes but the body said whoa. Cry baby reasons/excuses include an unbroken in Brooks saddle, probably the hottest day since records began and cycling the previous day.
The tip about wearing gloves was an understatement, it was Chilean miners hardcore!
Thanks to the German (I think) for saving my light bracket and to the bloke in glasses for the speedy loan of a Swiss Army tool to fix it.
Despite my early departure, I enjoyed the route covering areas new to me. So John, I salute your platoon leadership.
