I did this on a the gearing on a ride with Mikey5000 (he had the speedo whilre on gears and was like 'fucking hell, not only are you really really good looking you can spin as well'. This was with a brake but stopping when spinning that fast just required a decent bit of timing on the pedals (with a few scips and skids). Spin to win. Its really not that hard or unbeleavable.
I now run a higher GI (about 73) and ride brakeless in Auckland wich is fucking hilly. I can safely say that I NEVER ride down hills that fast unless I can see about 3 miles of clear road with no junctions (wich is very rare). Not really worth it.
