I was thinking of gebhardt rings: hubjub say they have them down to 41t and they also show a 40t in stock.... Might check out condor tomorrow, or persuade a mtb crank onto the bike instead.

I got a 42t Gebhardt ring from Hubjub. It came the day after I ordered it, so while you wouldn't get it tomorrow, you still won't have to wait too long. I would offer to lend you mine but my Pompetamine is spending its summer in Cheshire.
