How resilient are bikes to travelling on planes in bike bags? From what I have seen soft cases offer very little>zero protection, but people seem to use them to check bikes in as hold luggage?
Does this only work when transporting it officially as a bike/special sports equipment? or can you just bung it in instead of your regular allowed 20kg suitcase?
Im going somewhere on Lufthansa, they will take bikes fully assembled and unpackaged but charge 50Euro each way and only on certain planes. Ended up getting tickets on a no bike plane. What options do I have?
