Car appreciation... the aesthetics, the engineering, etc

I'm a W123 fan! We had a lovely red 230TE when I was a kid and I remember it being a highlight of the family car history. My dad still regrets selling it!
Whats the deal with yours?

It's a one owner car I picked up last year when I wasn't really looking for one. Had a 124, 202 and a 210, so fancied sampling the legendary pre- Daimler Chrysler design and build quality.
It's a 240td with the OM616 that puts out....55 Kw!
But they can be 'tuned', by fitting an OM605/6 and some clever bolt ons = 600+ BHP; OH my!
This, is really quite crazy.
