It's not exactly uncommon to have a totally dominant sprinter for a few years that none of the others can touch. The fact he was consistently in the top 3 makes him one of the fastest in the world but he's unlikely to get one over Cav when Cav's firing on all cylinders. That's just the way it is.
Thing is with Gossy he's a bit like Andy Murray: good. but there's better. First Cav, then Greipel, then Sagan and now Kittel. I like Goss and would actually love to see him win a tdf stage, god knows he's been trying long enough. But while he doesn't he brilliant to laugh at.
