Because the london to paris ride was an even organised by a new york rider who was working for Nike. The riders designed the CTRS Nike FC Shoes and all came together from all over the world, to ride to paris for a livestrong event during the TDF in 2009. Part of the deal was that the riders could get a budget to design/build a bike for the ride.
SuperTed designed the ones with the green swoosh...
