Oh man, that's pretty much my ideal car by the sounds of it. Like you say, a properly restored one is a lot of cash, but I'd happily pay for that than a new car any day. Also, BMW 2002 ti? Beautiful! Do it. I had a mate with one, such a nice little car to throw around. Weirdly, he could never get on with the seats and replaced them with the seats from a 205 GTi... bolted straight in and looked the part! (he was errr, larger framed too...)
