  • I would have been temped by the rotors. But the jizz decals put me off.

  • Best Cranks for riding Fixed Brakeless on the streets are:

    ***1. Dura-Ace 7700 / 7710 BB
Have got 3 sets of these and 1 set I have removed the arms for travel probably 30 - 40 times and they are still as good as the day I got them.

you've had no problem with the spline wear with these riding fixed?

i got that combo on my track bike, like it a lot and would like to get a similar one to my fixie skidder. anyways, there are rumours that the axle splines might get damaged over the time when riding brakeless..

  • I have more than enough chain rings... thanks.

I suppose it depends on how fat you are with regards to snapping things.
If you google any component you can probably find a fault that has happened.

    I've never snapped any component.

Well only 79kg but I don't have the best luck with things like that :P
If you've still got the DA 45t I'll taek it off you though.

    Anyone owned a zed 2 ?

Im quite happy with the omnium, even tho its more of a fixie Trend than real Track crank.
Rotor is lighter and maybe stiffer (dont think theres much it a difference) and i think the look better too :)

The omnium is a proper track crank!

    Wait, what?

If you look after your components then they will last a long time.

I check to make sure the bolts are tight on everything once a month. If the crank arms are fitted correctly they can't really wear out too fast. All cranks fatigue quickly if something is loose on them.

I have never had any trouble with mine on that front.

  • I didnt was its Not a good crank. I ride one on the street.....i just never saw anyone ridin it on the Track ;)

  • I'm one of many people that ride them at HH.

  • Pretty sure the most common crank I had seen there were DA 7710.

  • This page needs more pics, enough of this debates....

The Brothers (taken with my own camera...)

  • i would have been temped by the rotors. But the jizz decals put me off.

    y.e.s.

  • Im just tellin you, where i live.....i only See them on the street on hipster mash bikes ;)

thanks andy. i always check all the nuts and bolts on my bikes once a month as well, so i think i'll give them a go.

  • Christ, are enough dicks being swung in here?

  • I would have been temped by the rotors. But the jizz decals put me off.

    So, get them anodized.

  • I'd like a set in raw Aluminum.

  • That'd be pretty cool on the 953 stainless frame Andy!
Get some of the old nitromors active ingredient on eBay and put it to work ;)

    1. Dura-Ace 7600 with a sealed BB
Still have 2 sets of these and they are bombproof.***

Which sealed BBs can you use with 7600? They're ISO aren't they, so you can to use a campag one like 75s?

Dura-Ace made a sealed NJS square taper BB, they are quite hard to find. I have one on my beater... Hold up I'll try to find a photo.

"**Pictured below, the 7610 bottom bracket is the match for Shimano's previous generation track crank: the 7600 series with traditional square spindle tapers. Available in English or Italian threading (the English one is Keirin approved), it has a symmetrical 109 mm. spindle and sealed cartridge bearings"

  • I've never been able to tell the difference between cranks. Until I had my On One external ones. Never square taper again. Never. Due to ease installation and uninstallation and due to the fact that they feel so stiff. Way stiffer than 75s

    JB the anti-slave...

  • So, get them anodized.

I ended up going for the Royce. I think they look nicer anyway
