  • You don't need v brake levers to work with mini v, any road levers will be fine.

  • Or normal v brake with problems solver.

  • Its always so good to sound things out on here. Thanks Ed

  • ^^ Nice! Have been thinking about nitromors-ing my roller as well. How long did it take to do?

    Did you lacquer it afterwards?

  • Looks great, how would you desribe its handling?

  • CC in blue not available until end of july :-(

I wanted it this week so I would be ready for DD.

  • At least needs some 28c gators, something tougher!

  • They are 28c Super Sport Plus!

  • They don't look like it because that is one big ass steamroller. I'm guessing 62" how tall are you kallzer?

  • Oh right, cool bike just think 'rollers looks odd with light weight roadie tyres

  • Im 6'5. Yeah, youre right, it`s one big ass one :) Probably the only steel bike which got more than a 60cm top-tube and track-ish geo.

  • That's actually really nice. I just look at my Steamroller and see nothing but a workhorse that I ride all day, then forget about after hours and keep it out of my sight.. but yours is pretty!

  • These are the only two pics I've got of mine..

  • Woot fork do you use? Does it affect the geometry or does it have the same axle-crown-length?

  • It's a random GT fork I found, straight blade, and the axle to crown length is a lot shorter, it takes corners like it's on rails now, just sticks to the ground, I love it. I'll never use the original forks again.

  • Does anyone ride a SRAM Omnium on his/her Steamroller? If yes, how tight are the clearances between the crank-arms and the chainstays?

  • Does anyone ride a SRAM Omnium on his/her Steamroller? If yes, how tight are the clearances between the crank-arms and the chainstays?

I had an Omnium chain-set about 5 years ago and while I can't remember how close the clearance was it was never a problem so couldn't have been too close.

  • I have omniums, there's about a 1.5-2cm gap between chainstays and crank arm.

this is using the highly technical method of me looking at it and guessing. either way the gap is massive.

  • Thank you!

  • Got my CC frame on friday! Have not started building it up yet. Got a seatpost and headset from Condor on saturday. Have also ordered the Tektro full size V-brakes in the end to deal with the potential mudguard clearance issue.

  • Does anyone ride a SRAM Omnium on his/her Steamroller? If yes, how tight are the clearances between the crank-arms and the chainstays?

omniums come with a bb spacer so no probs if the chainring/chainstay clearance is tight (which is gonna strike before the crank arm.)

  • Looking to upgrade my steamroller to carbon forks. Recommendations on solid, black carbon forks? Anything for sale on the forum perhaps? It's a large, 59cm frame and I want to run it with a brake and without spacers.
