  • Anyone fancy Swinley this Wednesday?

    Yeah

does no one work anymore ? seems like the recession is hitting hard
swinley must be mad busy on a weekday !

  • i want wednesdays off

  • Stoodent, innit.

  • i STILL demand wednesdays off

  • What cranks to fit a 100mm shell for use with an alfine hub?

Would prefer external bb, but wondering if that would further fuck up the Q factor.

Q-factor will be wide whatever you do. I really rate those Raceface Atlas cranks that are on Annie's fatty. They aren't cheap though. Otherwise, surly make a special triple, e-thirteen make a 100mm set too. Otherwise it's hard to find DH cranks (not many use 100mm now)

  • there are the new sram fat bike cranks

  • Nice ride at Swinley today with a few forumites, much radness and gnar was had by all.

  • howard and whatok are always out in the woods
    it's no fair

  • howard and whatok are always out in the woods

To be fair, they do need the practice...

  • anyone got a 1x9 chain guide for sells?

  • A disused front mech may be cheaper

  • A full on ethirteen style one or a smaller top guide type? I think tester posted a DMR one that seemed pretty reasonable for the second kind. Otherwise I think I've got a BB mounted thing knocking about somewhere off an old jump bike.

  • i could try a mech but not sure if it will get close enough to the ring, it gets a bit cramped by the bb.

That dmr thing is a bit ugly Rob, maybe one of those ones that attach to the bb. What are the cool kids doing ?

  • something like this? but do i need a bash guard? can't see why I would do.

  • Upgrade to 10 speed with a clutch and go chain guard free.

  • The thing I've got is also hella uglier than the little DMR jobby.

  • Superstar make a nice and cheap chain guide.

something like this or a roller? This looks pretty perfect actually.

  • I used the XCR £16.99 thing when I was 1x9. It was good.

  • Yeah that looks good, I reckon it'll keep it on better than the roller too.

  • That's some lightning fast pp Howard. ;)

Good day today, nice to meet Upside and Adam. Cheers for pushing me off that ledge, and hope everyones wives are placated.

Soz I was so slow, late bloomer it seems..

  • To be fair, they do need the practice...

We can't all be good at everything.

  • Good time at Swinley today. Wife placated. Must improve sessioning skillz. Cheers all - did you get beers on the train?
