Oh and BTW I did as you suggested last week, I did not remove the extra rear bridge, only the little cable stop that could always be re-brased if someone really really really wanted to use centre pull brake (if they can find some with a drop that would fit 700c rims, which I have no idea who make them) and would insist not using a cable stop combined to the seat post cluster "a la surly"... I like the idea that this extra bridge may add to stiffness...
