I passed a guy riding a tourer in horrendous weather on Monday, wearing nothing but black, had two decent rear lights, but these were useless in the shite weather. I could hardly see him. Surely if you're touring and your faced with the decision of what colour bag cover to buy, would you buy black?!
Because it doesn't show the dirt and looks smart.
Seriously though I agree out on the open road a rider in black is just about invisible sometimes. From a distance a light is just a dot and doesn't register the same as a human in light coloured, human shaped human (or cycling) clothes. Bright gloves, helmet, overshoes or armwarmers are pretty easy ways of just getting something non ninja going on without looking like a builder.

The human eye is definitely imperfect and misses plenty of detail but hi-viz can rapidly go into the realms of over-kill IMO.
It's over kill or be killed out there.

Jeebus, it's easy to spend a lot of money on Rapha. I take it there are no current discounts around? I could use something to take the edge off the sting .
The discount code is the resale value

In light of prior musings up thread I plumped for a second hand Fawsome gilet for £40 over a proteam jacket. It's fucking brilliant. Definitely saving up for a sleeved Gabba in giallo fluo and some nanoflex armwarmers. As much as I still relish my baselayers and cx bibs, Rapha can >>>>> on this one.

+1 to this and Castelli, I got Leggero windproof jacket and absolutely loving it; saving up for gabba for winter too; After returning a lot of rapha garment due to not being perfect match I think I have found Castelli to be perfect and since there is no Castelli or Vulpine thread I decided to post this here. /CSB kthxbai

Just joined the club.
Touring Shorts, which are nice, and slightly less pricey as they were nearly new with tags off the 'Bay. A fair bit thinner than I expected, although it does say to wear them over padded shorts.

A long shot but I wonder if anyone has a Long Sleeve Jersey in Orange for sale L or XL? One has popped up on evil Bay and I'm trying to resist the urge to get drawn into a bid war.
Will pay decent money...

1 of 100 isn't any rarer than any other jacket in that 100. Seller must be smoking crack to expect to get £900 for it...

Damn that pink one is nice. My size, and probably something I'd use a shed load up here.
Is it still availible?
Cant dibs it or anything. I need to see how my funds pan out now that I'm back at work.
