It should just push on.
It sounds like the he rubber grommet thing is a bit tight? It'll loosen with use I guess. They wear out after a few years.

Cheers. I guess I'll just try to use it a bit more.
I had a look at this thread and I seem to be having the same problems.

Any opinions about Cannondale Aiport Nitro? Or SKS Airworx?

Best up grade....The pump seals go before the valve blows off...
http://www.v-sprint.com/pages/track-pack.html
I had some multi-valve piece of shit and swapped it for one from Varno's lot to use with my disc covers. Both are annoying but Varno's works. The pressure gauge is tiny, the thing falls over easily. Silca and the cheapass P-X were better.

^^ I've had a Joe Blow and it worked well. It's now with my dad. Still hasn't broken 3-4 years on.
I bought a Silca to replace it as it's a "pump for life" type pump. It's made of nicer parts has cool colours, but I don't think it's actually any better at pumping.
Someone here said something like; "the best pump is the one you don't let anyone else use". I think that's pretty true.

theres loads of models of joe blow from like £20 to £35 i found that confusing and wasnt sure what was worth paying the extra for,
ho they seem more expensive than £30?

I think I just chose the cheapest one from Condor which ended up being this one:
You're best bet is to go to a shop and see them up close. I struggle to believe there's a massive difference between them at that end. I'd guess any price differences are based on "features" that have been added to increase the price. TBH I wouldn't be supprised if they were all made by/from the same company / factory / parts.
Sorry if that isn't really very helpful.

I've got a silca recently and I think they made a new fitting, a screw on chuck that's not really that great , compared with the lezyne screw on fittings I've used before. The Schrader screw on side works great, just the presta fitting is a bit fiddly. The pump itself is excellent though. Will prob replace it with another hirame clone from varno but disappointing to lose the Schrader option.

This one is great and fantastic value:
http://www.edinburghbicycle.com/products/revolution-air-track-pump-sportI think it's the same as a more famous brand.

After posting that ^^, I've finally found the trick to the new silca chuck. remove it from the hose via the quick release to thread it off and on. works really well now, duh.

Phart Boff floor pump - any good?
I don't expect miracles at this price but I hope that for a casual rider like me this could be good enough.

Me again. Looking at dearer options now.
Any opinions on IceToolz A451 and Bontranger reCharger pumps. IceToolz looks good on paper. Even found a positive review. No info Bontranger though. Even official site doesn't state PSi. And that wories me a bit.
Maybe someone can steer me towards better pump in same pricerange (£16-18)?

I've not used their pumps, but everything I've ever used from IceToolz has been cheap and nasty and will break sooner rather than later.

Accept no substitutes

^^^ I can account for the Bontrager, it does the job, never had a problem with it. Where as my Park Tools one has had to have a new head fitted.
FYI, Condor have got track pumps on sale at the moment.

I've had one of these for a few years now and it's been totally solid. Plus they sell rebuild kits for when/if the connector fails.
Not sure how accurate the pressure gauge is but I haven't exploded anything yet.

I only own an IceToolz multi-tool with chain spliter and so far I'm happy with it.
As for the pump. Browsing trough the internetz just now I've noticed that IceToolz pump is almost identical to Airwave Storm pump which got a decent review on Bikeradar. So will probably stick with IceToolz.

I have the bontrager, got it for a tenner from evans sale never had a problem with it, pump head is really easy to use
Right so can someone help me out here. I bought a silca and passed my old Joe Blow onto my dad.
TBH I'm finding the valve a pain in the arse. To make it fix i have to actually screw the head into the tube valve. Which isn't that easy because the head is so big, plus its fairly stiff. It's even more of a hassle with 32h or 36h because there's even less space.
User error?
Any tips?
