  • Argh....

Stolen overnight in SE1: my Brooklyn Machine Works Gangsta V1 (w/ V1 clusterfork) - very distinctive as the frame is fully chromed. Silver with black fork and all black components (powdercoated Dura Ace 7600 cranks, Halo Aerorage wheels w/ Halo tyres, Thomson Elite seatpost and stem, Answer risers, BMW barends, Paul E-lever and Dia Compe brake). Pic below.

They took down two locks including an Abus Granit 1000.

If you see it or are offered it for sale please PM me. Thanks

  • The granit cable lock?

  • yeah this one - Abus Granit Steel-O-Flex 1000 - Black, 100cm: Amazon.co.uk: Sports & Outdoors

...like a hot knife through butter

  • Cable locks are not worth their money. Check the locks that work thread. Sorry you lost your bike, hope you find it soon.

  • Hmm definitely time to replace mine

  • barstards

  • On Tues 4th June my friend had an old Ideale 90 Rebour saddle (black) stolen from her bike in London Fields (entrance to park, Broadway Market side, apparently). It actually had an oversized cover on it, so probably an oportunist theft. Nonetheless, she was attached to it and it set the bike off well. It's a long shot but if anyone happens to spot one being sold on anywhere, she'd appreciate the 'heads up'.
    It's like this one

    Cheers all.

  • How annoying, what a beautiful saddle!

  • potentially risky parking location i'd say - have a bump for your hardship!

(recommend editing the thread title with the location - just in case its turns up locally!)

    I know ... shame indeed.

Thanks. And, that's a good idea.

  • try ebay and brick lane on sunday morning.... sclater street .. there are two car parks with a multitude of stalls in ... you'll more than likely find it in there

  • On Monday I finished a bike build that centered around a Specialized 2010 Allez. It was stealth black (with red s-works decals on the downtube), running full Ultegra, Mavic Kysrium Elite S wheels, 3T ARX stealth stem and Ergonova bars, and specialized carbon post and Romin Pro full carbon saddle. It's a one of a kind and there really aren't any around like this. On Tuesday afternoon, on my first ride into the office (Covent Garden), the bike was stolen. The courtyard that the bike was in is a buzzed entry system but they got in, bolt cropped the lock that secured the bike to the iron railing that was directly outside my office door and had it away. So less than 16 miles on my new bike and it was gone. The thing that really, really hurts is the work I've put into it over the past 3 weeks - the paint job, the building, the sourcing parts etc. I will happily offer a reward to any information that leads to its safe return. Gutted, really really gutted...

  • That's Clovis Salmon's place. He's been about for years. He's alright, said he'd look out for my stolen bike.

  • Nice one, Kat. Might have to stop by one day and check it out!

  • Anyone missing an ESB half green/half raw? My brother spotted someone in Vicky Park with one and they did not look legit.

  • ^ think someone at 14 bike co had a bike like that and it got stolen a while ago

    Lol

  • Thanks jv I just sent 14 a message. Tried searching on the night but couldn't find anything about it being stolen

  • Hey guys, had my bike stolen from silver street overground station about a week ago, would appreciate if people could keep an eye out for it.

  • I had my Surly crosscheck stolen from London Bridge/Borough and Friday 7th June. Was built with a mismatch of parts. The photo shows an alfine hub but was running as singlespeed at the time of the theft as the hub was getting a service. The Alfine shifter and cable was still attached but not going anywhere. There is distinctive yellow electrical tape holding the cable to the down tube (I know, I had run out of cable ties). Other notable thing was it had a Brooks saddle which had scratches on the nose from when I have had it upside down changing a flat.

I am not holding out much hope, expect that it is being stripped for parts as I type this.
