Gotten mine pretty wet and its still going strong. Do so entirely at your own risk though. Mine is insured which made the decision to use it in rain a lot easier.

It's tempting, but I had a plan and it would mean straying from it. My plan was to shoot film until there's a good full frame compact for an acceptable price tag. I think it's maybe 1-3 years until we're there. The Sony RX1 is paving the way, all we need now is lower prices and lenses we can swap.
The xpro1 seems to be the perfect camera to plug that gap, but how much will it lose in value the next 3 years? My 5D didn't lose a penny over two years, and still a good deal when I sold it. The replacement, the GX1, hasn't held value anywhere near as good.
Or maybe money isn't the big issue here, maybe I should just get a camera that I like and get on with it.

Value shouldn't matter much and the xpro 1 / x-e1 should hold their second hand value well anyway.
In terms of waiting for a full frame compact to come out, the fuji easily matches the current generation full frames from both camps in terms of IQ even at high iso. 6400 on an xpro 1 is just as good as 6400 on a 6D...

Yeah, that's what's tempting me over. Though reading about the GX1 the internets said it would be as good as the 5D, but i don't agree. It's a fantastic little camera, but not on par with a 5D, though its not a fair comparison it turns out.

I guess it depends on the use. If you only ever use low ISOs then most current cameras are indistinguishable once you exclude lenses. The Fujis are an exception because of their unique sensor so the colour and noise behave totally differently and there's no moiré. Ever.

I just got back from spending a month in Addis Ababa, hence I was trying to sell a bike elsewhere on the forum.
Was wondering if anyone on here had any contacts in the photographic world as I'm not really in touch with any person or organisation that is?
My series (The Municipality) is an exploration of the political aesthetics of Addis Ababa’s late-imperial, socialist and post-socialist architecture and public space. It is a series that explores the changes and continuities in Addis Ababa’s architectural and social history.
Be willing to hear people's comments, if interested and if you know of anybody to pass it on to that would also be great.
