Yeah, I asked Jason who works there how much it would cost for a Chinese dragon on my frame maybe around 10-15 cm on the top tube and he said around £50-80 depending on the style and detail. I said had a line drawing in mind. Not bad price for the time I thought.

They are good, they just did my girlfriends Roberts. Its hassle free, convenient and worth the money if you don't have time to get stuck into a strip and rebuild job. check it out: Not the best picture but she took it at work...Hey how do you put photos up?

I made a flikr gallery of the before and after of the rebuild. Amourtex have a rack of coloured tubes in thier front shop. Prices are about (i think) £75 for the first side for a flat colour with matt or gloss laquer and I think £125 for the second side (which has glitter flake in them). I photographed both sides for prospective build projects.

Just read through a lot of this as I'm thinking of getting a powdercoat.
Is Armortex the only place in London or is their popularity simply due to a willingness to deal with bike frames in a detailed way?
I haven't seen much talk of any other powdercoaters so just wondering.
I'm getting the impression that a powdercoat and clear lacquer on top is about 75 quid right? but perhaps less in black?
Also - wondering if there's anyone on here who's ever got a powdercoat done in Norwich, I am there once a month or so to see the old dear, so I've tried to get a couple of quotes on the way, but wondering if anyone has experience of anywhere. Seems like you'd more likely find places that have no knowledge of coating bikes, but will happily stick a steel frame in with some steel girders and stuff for a few bob...

I just collected my frame from Armourtex. RAL 6027 with a subtle sparkle gloss lacquer. I'll take some better photos when I get chance.

you spent £60 quid more on something you will see 3 days in a year...
I did that too.

anyone know any good powder coaters that are bike-savvy OTHER than armourtex?
need to get something stripped, and it's slightly too big for their tank (and its alu so not shot blasting)...

More details?
Didn't you know what the job entailed?

Those lines don't look nice. Are they all over?

So I just bought this lovely Brian Rourke (http://www.lfgss.com/thread107316.html) but the paint job is not so lovely..
I was thinking of taking it to Armourtex but I'm worried that a powdercoat would be too thick, especially around the lugs.
I also want the braze ons taken off, is there somewhere in London that can do a respray and remove the braze ons at the same time? (The braze ons were added later, no puppy killing here!)
I have heard mixed reviews about Mario Vaz, what's the general consensus with him?
Thanks

general consensus is mixed. He can remove brazeons for cheap though, his brother working for Roberts is doing that for him.

Not in a powder coat but I think they're doing some wet spraying now

Just had frame, cranks, 2x rims, 2x hubs, 2x riser bars and a stem (not the one in the pic) done for £50 at the local powder coaters. Just gloss grey for the frame and satin black for the rest but still well stoked!!!
sandblasted, making sure it's clean enough before applying the powder.
