That's just the worst scratch, the braking surface is still in pretty good nick, more so on the front somehow

Well i would guess a huge part for most buyers of grey / ano / ceramic rims etc is because they dont have a different looking braketrack. So i would think for most (me included) that part of the lure is ruined if they wear and look worse of then just a regular silver braketrack.
Mavics ceramic rims use to look the same for years no matter what i did to them. The latest versions however had all sort of issues and were not up to par. Now they are discontinued, a pitty imo.
Apparently, the only guy who knew the ceramic process and developed it, left Mavic and then died, couple of lackies tried to recreate it but failed
