I'm planning on riding 79"

I figured keep the same gearing I use to commute as it'll be similar conditions (minus buses, taxis and tourists. Actually there may be tourists. Damn....).

Way faster!

i reckon up by the top-left corner of the track will be good if we bring plenty of beers with us. for the track crit that will be the crucial corner (aka where everyone stacks it)

3 is at the end of quite a long fast bit and slightly down hill. Think that this might be a stack it corner.

There was a Nocturne special pullout thing in the Evening Standard yesterday - my penny farthing-obsessed colleague left it on my desk this morning as there's going to be a penny farthing race!! Exciting!

You mean 3?

I think they race clockwise.

the bit closest to the 'e' in nocturne. the tight double right turn at the top of the picture.
remember some forumengers saying that's where they pitched up 2 years ago and it was a good spot as it wasn't as rammed as the finish line/the bit by barclays.
I was only joking about the crashes too but having ridden that corner with taxis revving behind me it's one that I always feel nervous on so would probably be a good spot to see some accomplished riding rather than sprinting along the straights.

I'll bring my camera :)

Between 3 and 1 is the best viewing location, though it does tend to get cramped.
Lock your fucking bike somewhere else apart from here and not up against the viewing railings!A good assembly point is near point 1 in front of the Distillers Pub. A bit of space around the circular green / drop area.

I say this because numerous fixed gear spoks and brakless bikes were locked up against the railings last year impeding good viewing spots.

as there's 69 people 'coming' on the facebook event for the forumengers birthdays, that bit will be likely be far too cramped for us to all fit in.
I reckon we'll end up either in the loop bit around the underground car park next to the finish line concentrating on the drinking and dipping in and out of the racing as needed or we'll be down the end by snow hill where hopefully there'll be more space drinking and watching the racing.
-
• #148
The loop bit is the best for space alright.

... drinking... ...drinking...
I don't see what else there is to worry about...
