What time is it? Watches and horology

They've been making them for a good twenty years or so now. My Dad has a divers model from the early Nineties.

In terms of watch history when we look to brands like Omega (1925) or Seiko (1881) as benchmark, a 'good twenty years ago' is dipping a toe in the water.
