No, A Hed3 is essentially a Specialized. Specialized designed it back in about 1880, subcontracting the materials science to DuPont, so you sometimes see them with DuPont stickers too. Steve Hed bought the moulds when Specialized stopped making them. The rim and spoke shape is unchanged in decades, although Hed have made a few changes to the hub over the years.
