    Paul Cranks on a Bob Jackson Vig are so fucking nuts it's brilliant.

  • Really, really nice in that colour. And the lug lining works well there - I'm not usually a fan of it, but that's spot on. Is there another post with spec details, rims in particular?

    My only regrets with my Vigorelli are 1) not getting better track ends and now, 2) not getting it in that colour :)

    I deliberated a lot over the colour, but I'm glad I stuck with it! The wheels are NOS Campagnolo Omega's laced to 2010 Campagnolo pista hubs. Tyres are Conti gatorskins.

  • I would've strayed from the slavish colour scheme, but it looks like good fun.

  • Tidy, if I am being picky id say it would look a lot better with normal profile silver rims and drop bars. Most people here are a little too snooty to appreciate a bike with white bits on it. I think it is fine as long as you dont go overkill, white rims is overkill. Thank god you didn't put a white chain on it though.

  • The wheels, I built for a previous project and had to use them for this (budget somewhere round zero!). Agree with DFP on the wheels! And really wanted some really plain looking taditional shallow profile rims....the bars I didnt really have much choice..I cant ride on the drops anymore due to an altercation with an audiA4 and my old back/neck just cant take it any more!

  • I tried searching but couldnt' find it... does anybody know the geometry of the Bob Jackson Vigorelli? (angles of seat tube/head tube, and tt to st ratio?)

    From pictures, I don't see it as square, but I'm not 100% sure.

    Also, any idea of the BB drop?

  • When I was enquiring I was told the 23" and 23.5" frames both had a 22.75" top tube. I don't think they're square in all sizes, and I don't think the angles are all 73°, especially in the smaller sizes.

    For some reason Bob Jackson don't like publishing a geo chart but if you email them they will respond to specific queries regarding sizing.

  • The angles definitely aren't that steep in the regular sizes. I would guess mine (23.5", ~58cm) is 73/73. For a bit more cash you can have custom geometry but even then they might not have lugs that work with 75° angles.

  • Likely to be 53, but why were you hoping for it to be more 74/75? you'd likely to need a setback seatpost for that.

    the smallest Bob Jackson have a ridiculous 76 degree seat tube, typical old geometry.

  • anyone put VO polished/hammered 35-37mm guards on a OTP vigorelli with any success? not sure i want to go down the boring old SKS route.

    I had some dia compe chrome guards that worked ok. I dare say VO ones would be just as good.

  • that looks very nice.

    the only pro i can think of in terms of going for the SKS is the use of the secuclip things on the rear to allow ease of access in the event of a puncture (this will be my winter and do it all (well nearly everything) bike)

  • make sure the rear wheel sit near the end of the drop out, and allowed a little more room between the tyres and mudguard to enable removal while inflated.

  • ^^^I sold a Bob Jackson with an almost identical colour scheme to that one - I'd love to find it again. The decals were the same only red (I think!), didn't have the couplings and was about 64/65cm high with a 58cm top tube.

    Where did you get the idea for that scheme? Might you have seen my old bike somewhere?

  • For referance now that autumm is apon us. I fitted some Topeak Defenders mud guards to my Vig. They fit really well and were easy to fit. Thats coming from someone that loathes installing mudguards of any description.

    I'm considering ordering a new Bob Jackson Vigorelli (or find a used one), but I'm not sure just how different the track frame stand over-height differs from a standard road type frame. I normally take a 57cm centre to top road frame (22.5"), but concerned about the higher bottom bracket on the Vigorelli...did you guys go for the same size as what you'd normally ride?

    Curious to hear from any Vigorelli owners out there - would you get a different frame size if you had the choice? If you've got a 22.5" frame - I'd love to hear what the standover height is.

  • There's a thread on the Bob Jackson Vigorelli here including quite a bit of chat about the sizing.

    Tl;dr: send them an email and they'll answer your sizing questions.

    I was told that the standover height on a 23" is 33.5" and for a 23.5" it is 34". So I would assume that the standover for a 22.5" frame would be around 33".
