  • I'd like to see you on that - I'm thinking Superman.

  • ah ah... too long, I know. ;) But it was on when I bought it. I removed but reinstated it later. (I do not know where to store it)

  • just turn the stem backwards, it will be shorter effectively.

  • Just posted this in classifieds , £275.

  • ha!

seriously though, when you have a bit of cash, stick a geared road groupset on it, get a replacement rear mech hanger from Look and the bike will ride 100000 times better than the set up you have now, IE as it was designed

Haven't been on for a while, but thought I'd post another pic now that I have new wheels and pedals (I succumbed to the peer pressure... and sound judgement). Still a fixie though, and that pic of the cracked hanger wasn't actually of my bike, it was of someone else's. But I digress.

    Anyway, here's the update:

    • Campagnolo Delta laced to Miche Primato hubs, DT Champion spokes
    • Michelin Pro 3 Service Course tires
    • Shimano 600 pedals with Lapize straps
    • And finally, this weird Selle San Marco seat with plastic rails

My brother has a brand new Bianchi Super Pista with Chris King and Phil Wood components and all the rest of it and even *he *gets jealous.

  • Looks like a nice conversion to me! As long as you're enjoying riding it and haven't started lopping bits off so that it can't go back to it's intended use if you want it to, I'd say your conciense should be untroubled by any dead puppies.

  • Are the rear brakes in the chain stays?

  • Under the chainstay, just like every other aero bike

  • I know aero road bikes aren't meant to be pretty, they are meant to be aero but that paint job can >>>>>>>>>>>>>>

they could have at least painted the fork black to hide the ugly gaps around the front brake.

  • ironically become more aero once the brakes are pulled

  • ^^ I think the idea is probably to make it visual to showcase it.

  • Does anyone know if it would be possible to fit Di2 to a 585 to run internally?

I was sort of wondering if something like this would be possible and whether it would work with a full carbon steerer?

    Thoughts?

  • I'm not about to pull mine apart to check, but I think the 585 has a continuous head tube and the BB insert is closely fitted into the BB shell, so some of the details seem to militate against wiring it up like that LaPierre. Also, why would you want to drill a load of holes in a 585‽

Buy a 695 Aerolight if you want something with tidy wiring.

  • "Buy a 695 Aerolight if you want something with tidy wiring."

That's exactly what I've been telling my ex-wife for 20 years and now my girlfriend... ;)

  • ^^ just bacause I was mulling over that 5 bikes thread and thought at least a 585 would be in there. Then I began thinking if/how electric shifting could would.

Out of interest how did you get the interrobang?

    Googled 'interrobang' and then copy/paste

  • My NOS frameset KG381 Team. Love it. So smooth ride after alu frame.

  • Hi everybody, I'm supposed to pick this one up tomorrow but I Wonder what exact model this is? I'm thinking of a kg181 but I'm not sure...

  • Kita's LOOK is beautiful.

  • KG281 I reckon. Good deal if so.

  • Under the chainstay, just like every other aero bike

Somebody obviously forgot to tell Pinarello that.

    Fuck that's cool!

  • Somebody obviously forgot to tell Pinarello that.

The other Pina has it under the chainstays. I expect they developed 2 different TT bikes because they weren't sure whether bribing the UCI to 'clarify' the rules to allow the brake fairings on the Bolide was going to work.

but thats how everything in the UCI works isn't it?
