FWIW I bought these lights on your recommendation, and the vendor threw in a rear light for nowt as well. The clamp is exactly the same as in your picture and I reckon it should fit all manner of silly-shaped bars, and if there's a kind that it doesn't fit, then >>>>>>>

^^ I took spares with me last year, but didn't need them (used quality batteries). I had both lights on full blast, one focused to the distance, and one on wide beam and angled down.

I'm still using the same set in them as normal torches.

Yeah myself and a few others had full intentions of riding back, see the earlier thread for all the 'big talk' and the list. When we arrived on the beach all but RodMunch, myself and Rob. decided against it (I only went because of a bus ticket fuck-up). I bailed at about 170 miles, they made it all the way back. The turnaround is a lot fucking harder than I thought. Tricity and 6pt, Rod and Rob. are all no-joke serious tough riders. It was well out my league. 240 miles through the night is HARD. All you audax people be quiet by the way, you live and ride in a strange, weird world apart from us humans.

Indeed. I did the Dun Run (well, starting from Dorking to take in Box Hill on the way up to London Fields) and back (home to Putney) as a DIY 400km Audax (430km on the road) in prep for LEL 2009.

Doing it for no real purpose (other than "It's there!") would be a lot harder.

I didn't actually do it last year because the immense pain of my right knee basically detaching itself from my leg near Stansted in 2011 then carrying on anyway meant too many bad memories, so up for it this year.

I can't speak for the artist formerly known as spybot but he doesn't like lists either.
