If you're going this weekend bear in mind it's 'Run To The Sun' weekend. So if you do decide to head from Mawgan Porth along the coast road past Watergate Bay then you will sit in the traffic leaving Trevelgue crawling into Newquay for a bit. This used to be a really good weekend of classics and VW's but it went a bit awol a few years back IMHO.
Still if you end up looking for a better than average pub meal with amazing views, I can recommend Lewinnick Lodge at Pentire (the Fistral end of Newquay). Not top top quality but very reasonably priced and a pretty good selection, e.g local razor clams, locally caught fish. Plus it normally has decent crowd inside.
