so i have a 48x17t gear set up, currently single speed at the moment because i'm feeling wussy this month. i put a new kmc z510 chain on it a few weeks ago and i lube it occasionally with that finish line ceramic wet lube.
already it has needed tensioning twice and chain wear is neeeaaarrly at .50
what the hell? it's the chronicles of ridiculous!

Yahoo all of a sudden refuses to let me attach documents to emails. They're not huge or saved in obscure formats - routine stuff. The only warning is 'An error occurred while uploading', but there's no option for more information. I've tried several different files and ways of attaching - same result each time.

Cog/chainrings was probably worn as well causing the chain to wear a lots quicker.

You don't need to lube it straight away as it's already covered in wax, too much lube can actually increase wear and tear due to collect dirt and grim from London 's famous London.

Chain that on too tight that bind also accelerate the wear and tear.

Since you mentioned you switch to what sound like a barely use freewheels due to being a wussy, the chainrings might be the curpit.

Check your chainline too. It it isn't dead straight, the pins wear out faster

maybe it is the chainline. i try to make sure the wear real bolts are in the same position from the edge of the drop (sounds so epic) but maybe my eyesight is going to shit (possible) or i'm just being an eternal n00b.

I need a half link chain on my rat bike, which one should I get? I have never had half link chains before and dont want to spend mega bucks

and question no 2; I have Miche Pistard wheelset which by the looks of it doesent have braking surface on the rims; i know it's a stupid/noob question before I ask but can I run a brake on it?
