i don't really want to, but I might have to. I need to work out what I can carry with saddle/bar/frame bags. I think you need a stiff frame for racks & paniers so I'd rather keep the bike feeling great when loaded up.
The only thing I like about panniers is that you can take them off and keep them in the tent very easily. Also good for repairing a puncture for example, you can take the load off the bike in 2 seconds.
