It's a nice and simple design, though not the most efficient and no, not light by any means. This Coiler has 6" of travel, but I remember when the Stinky had only 5" ( possibly 4" at one point? ). Nothing like today's freeride monsters.
If I build it, I'm considering swapping to an air shock to trim some of the weight. Most of the decent forks now are air and I like being able to fine tune without having to faff about changing springs.
