If you start at the hut the cyclists congregate at rather than the motorcyclists, head down the hill next to the hut the wide sandy route at 90 degrees to the road rather than parallel to the road, follow the line at the bottom which ends up at a switchback to the left which can be taken a little motocross style. Then you end up at a gate, turn left and go to the top of Wellington hill, cross the road, and then there's a few rollers which culminate overlooking someone's garage. Before you get to that end bit there's a trail to the left which is tight and twisty through hollybushes and snakes left and right through narrow trees. Eventually you end up at a quick left over a bridge and then a bit of flat riding gets you on to a fire road. I don't know where that is or how to get back to the hut but that was what me and Cake were enjoying yesterday.
