They may try to get him over whatever ails him and then employ him as a super dom, plus pick up the TT stage win at the end.
Or he'll abandon while calling some people cunts
But on this showing there's no way he'll get number one status in the Tour.

Things have gone down hill since all those people "left" over the off-season.

Tell that to Froome
If you're referencing Leinders I don't see any discernable drop in performance. They are2 still the best stage racing team and I think are still top of the rankings.
If you're talking Yates and Rogers I think you could be bang on. Not the same discipline and mental fortitude displayed from Brad. A lazy feel to his racing up until the Giro, and I think his form is more down to his mental state than his physical fitness. He's shown focus in flashes in his career, then relapses. He doesn't look hungry this year, unlike Froome. That could be down to the loss of the most experienced road captain and Brad's closest DS.

The way things are with Froome do you think Wiggo will even be in the tour squad? Uran's comments seemed very pointed...
In that case it might be better for Sky to drop Wiggo from the Tour completely to avoid internal squabblings and distractions with Cound stirring the pot on Twatter and instead send him as team leader to the Vuelta instead once he's had a chance to recover, with Porte, Uran, Henao at his side as wingmen.

I would say that it's pretty fuppping unlikely that they won't let the previous years winner start the tour. Worst case scenario is that he sulks and doesn't contribute, then blows the TT stage away. He's not exactly the kind of rider who could attack solo and cause problems for someone like Froome, he needs a team working for him to damage the race.

I actually think that's a better option, and Brad could use the Vuelta to build for the Worlds and the TT. But I think Brad is limited as a climber and worse has got the yips on the descents. With Yates in his ear he might have got over them but in a 3 week stage race it's been exposed as a fatal flaw in his armoury.
Mind you he won't be racing in conditions like that there.
Problem for Sky is marketing: they need Wiggins at the tour. The tour will want Wiggins at the Tour. First two names on the list will be him and Froome.
Anyway go Uran!

A bit unfair to say that he's got the yips on descents-he won the tour last year after all! Seems more a momentary lack of confidence and not being at 100 percent than a permanent affliction.
I'm wondering whether he'll want to start the tour rather than if he'll be allowed-if he's not team captain and with the prospect of being Froome's bitch for 3 weeks and watching him on the podium, then chilling for 3 weeks and working towards the Vuelta might be more attractive and Froomey would probably rest easier too...

There are no descents of any length today, so I'd be surprised if anyone gets dropped.

Yeah, winning Le Tour to rolling in with the broom wagon isn't much of a drop in performance.

Like the whole of Cadel's 2012 wasn't a huge drop in performance?
Oh yes, it was a 'virus', like the one Hushovd got when he moved to BMC, and Gilbert...

Rodriguez. Pellizotti. Nibali. Hesjedal.
Wiggo will crash in stage 4 but won't be out of contention until stage 14 for unknown reasons.
Cav will win two stages but won't get sprinters jersey.
Gossy will win 8 stages. Okay maybe not but there has to be some bias..

He was still winning stuff in 2012. Unlike Wiggo who has done what in 2013 exactly?

From the person saying how good he was in the TT when talking about the 'virus'.
He's getting gapped on descents. I'm not saying he had the yips at the Tour and can't descend, but he's certainly got them in the wet at the Giro. The yips is a mental block, the inability to be able to do something confidentaly and well that you could previously. Hippy's trolling aside he hasn't been terrible, just unlucky and in the need of HTFU

And I'd be more concerned with Gilbert's amazing 2011 classics campaign rather than any 'drop' (World Champ is a pretty good drop) in form.

Fair to say that Gilbert winning the world champ was a surprise after a pretty shocking year when even the head of his national federation was publicly how disappointing he was.

He was good in the TT.
I'm just on the windup with the Leinders post. #hooklinesinker
He might have got the fear, but that doesn't stop him riding hard on the flat to get back the time. He had a whole team around him today ffs

He has got you there though. The tour winner's highlight of the season was a win in the Criterium International. Then he was poor at the Dauphine, and rubbish at the Tour.
Strangely like other BMC top guns.
Then he carried on being rubbish until he called it quits on the season citing an unamed virus that was so bad it was still affecting his early season in 2013. Then suddenly he's decent in Trentino and back to his best in the Giro.
Racehorse to donkey to racehorse again
See, can troll right back. Ha

B- a good effort but you could have gained a higher mark by referring to his time at Telekom and his links with Ferrari.
what dose this all mean ? Will Brad pull the cord on the Giro, grow a pair, then defend his title at the tour ?
