I have an old ipod touch (2nd gen I think) which you can't install a lot of stuff on as the firmware's too old. Is it relatively easy to jailbreak and update the firmware?

I downgraded my old iPhone 3G back to iOS 3 because the update to 4 made it run like absolute shit.
