  • ^ Yes, you wouldn't want to grab the front brake in a panic, with that much mechanical advantage you'd just lock the wheel and endo.
    Little modulation either.

    Wouldn't you get the most mechanical advantage if the straddle cable was at 90 degrees to the line between the brake pivot (boss) and the cable clamp (the end of the cantilever arm). With the cable angles above a lot of the force would be directed towards the pivot.
