  • Sean Yates would like you reconsider the possibilities of saddle to bar drop. #eternalseatpost

"Sean love, you can take off the Sky bidon now. There you go. All better now"

    Holy shit. Epic drop.

  • To the most critical, observant thread on this planet, will you lend me your eyes for my new build? I've found myself stuck on the red/white/black colourway around the drive, send it to >>>>>>>>>> if you have to but let me know whats not working so far...
I mean if you wanted an honest opinion, where else would you go but here?

  • epic troll. GTFO, your bike is ugly! Ah, that's what you wanted me to say. It's lovely. Wait. Aggh.

Rule number 1 is don't post your own bike in this thread.

Rule number 2 is don't post ugly bikes.

    Rule 3 no coloured chains.

Oops, looks like you broke all 3.

  • it's not super ugly per-se ... it's just got that whole mtb matchy matchy thing going on - ends up looking a bit 'southend-on-sea'. However, posting your own bike is inexcusable - as is having a coloured chain.

If you want your shit validated go to Current Projects, do not pass go..

  • It looks fun, I'd bin the chain and fit a front brake.

That said I know that many people only run a rear brake on bikes like this- why is that?

barspins without silly cable routing or a gyro thing. It's a DJ bike, so it doesn't really need the stopping power of a front brake either.

  • would minimise the chance of launching yourself over the bars too I guess

  • I only had a rear disc brake on my dirt jump bike (DMR Trailstar, epic bike) back in the day. Was plenty.

  • Who makes those wheels?

Also, Rittes are never porn, it's in the rules.

  • Rules rulez

  • I was gonna post that. I like it

    drama

  • The seat post got covered in funk.

  • I get to interview Michael Embacher in the next few days.

Anyone got any burning questions they want answering?

  • No, but say hi from me.

  • open mould maybe, but it still looks nice

  • yeah its slightly more sensible than the bosberg wich is very open moldish :D

  • What is an open mould frame?

  • Frames produced in large numbers by a factory or factories in China and sold to companies which badge them as their own and sell them to the public.

You can see the same frame badged as a De Rosa and a Ribble, for example.

Ritte buy in frames and apply their own paint alongwith a significant markup.

The companies reselling them typically have little to no input into the design of the frame.

Planet-X make no secret of their sourcing, but do insist that they design their frames with the factories.

  • Open Mold Frames

An “open mold frame” is a mold which the factory owns. They can sell that frame to anyone they choose. The brands who buy these open mold frames don’t own or control the design, engineering, or material selection for the products they’re marketing. Generally, they specify the paint and logos. You’ll see some of the smaller brands with identical frames from one to the next. This is often what you’ll be getting when you select an inexpensive carbon frame or component. These might be perfectly good, and they might not be. You just don’t know.

Many name-brands will purchase the molds they use and own them. That is the brand’s IP and the factory cannot sell that frame to anyone else.

bassicly.. ritte doesnt make their own frames, but say:

At just 950g for a medium sized frame, its quality rivals framesets selling for thousands more.

    yet they ask:

    MSRP: $1950 USD

    MSRP: $2225 USD

    and should go >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • Basically Ritte are big fat fakers. You pay for the paint job?

  • Basically if you were riding around on a nago/bmc/cervelo hussy, you would still have a look.
