I've never had a chance to try ergo bars, so can't really be complaining.
If you don't mind me asking, what's purpose of a lower, but more behind the BB, saddle position?
I've been playing with my set up, and just adjusted mine a touch further back, ain't really had a chance to test it yet though, but always willing to learn.
I have long femurs (according to Scherrit), so need the extra room- especially with a steep-ish seat tube. The exception is my track bike which has an inline seatpost and is set up to ride in the drops all the time with hips tipped further forward and more weight in my hands.
