Yes, but I'm using the term "mechanical" in its general meaning. Hence why I said, it's still mechanical, just because it's quartz. My bike is mechanical, but it's not a wind up watch either.
Watches with metal hands which spin around are mechanical. The mechanisms use jewels as bearing faces.
