  • Two options: 1) Slacken off the head angle a bit, or 2) have less offset/rake on your fork. Both these actions will have the effect of increasing trail.

    As you say a few posts up, your current geometry includes a 70' head angle, yet this results in a trail you're very happy with. In this new instance, you seem to be taking the approach that the Holy Grail is to have a 74' head angle, and you're now trying to shoe-horn in all the rest of the geometry.
    There's a good post from Glowbike somewhere that explains the relationships between trail, head angle and handling, and he suggests that (particularly for smaller frames) you should work out your desired trail, and then let the head angle be derived from that.
